Why We Love Ring Video Doorbell (And You Should, Too!)

Design and Features

This doesn’t even look like a doorbell. It’s so sexy. It’s only 4.9 x 2.4 x 0.8 inches in its measure and looks classy. Made of premium black plastic, it comes with an 180-degree field of view HD camera that works amazingly well. And then it comes with a motion sensor too. The lower part of the doorbell is metallic, and there are more version available in brass with an antique finish, satin nickel, and polished brass too. You also have a Venetian version that looks quite beautiful.  Talk about sexy, the bell comes with a ring button (LED-backlit). This lights up when you press it and the chime rings in every device it’s connected to.

Mounts Easily

The video doorbell comes with an excellent quality mount plate that attaches to everything from wood to stucco, brick to cement and even vinyl. The neat bell comes with a toolkit that has everything you need. This comes with mounting hardware, screwdriver, a weather sealant and masonry drill bit. You can connect this certified doorbell for outdoor use, and it will withstand anything from -5 to more than a 100 degrees.

Internal Battery Charge

The Ring wi-fi doorbell comes with an internal rechargeable battery that can easily be recharged. To recharge it, just remove the doorbell by sliding it off the mounting plate and connect it to a USB charger, using the cable that comes with the device. There’s a mini USB port on the back that you have to connect it to. For some, the batteries have even lasted more than two months before requiring a charge.

You usually will get a signal indicating a low-battery alert when the levels fall below five percent.

Easy Connectivity To Apps

The wi-fi video doorbell comes with a system that connects well with iOS and Android mobile devices. Although it does lack PC Web browser support, the app is very easy to use. So when someone presses the buzzer, your smartphone will ring too. This will tell you within seconds that someone is at your door. The application allows you to open a live feed just by tapping on the notification. Now isn’t that convenient? You can either accept this or deny the ring. And the app allows you to have a two-way conversation too. Something that isn’t so well fetched in other designs.

The app is cool as it displays a section to view and change your account settings without much hassle. Just a simple tap on one of the icons takes you to a map that talks about the doorbell’s location. This page is linked to Device and Motion Settings and many other settings that are easy to use. Recorded videos are stored in the Cloud, which is a paid feature but worth the small price.

Installation and Performance

Installation is incredibly easy. You can first download the app and then begin to install it. Once you have your name and confirmed address on the app, it will lead you to the settings on its own. For instance, you will be guided to press the button on the back of the device and will be told how to get the Wi-Fi settings fixed. This will also be connected to Ring’s SSID for all uses.

The installation usually does not take more than a few minutes if you are using the instructions right. This is one of the most easy-to-install products.

With the Ring Video Doorbell, you can easily keep a check on the entire safety system of your place from the comfort of your location. You do not have to take all calls, and even as you reject calls, the videos are being recorded for your perusal later. Agreed it doesn’t come with the best audio and sometimes the battery life can be disappointing, but the technology it uses cannot be found easily anywhere else. So what are you waiting for? Make your home secure today.

Can the Ring be hooked up to a programmable chime doorbell so you can hear different soundtracks and have Ring video features?

Is a permanently connected charger an option when using strictly for a security camera?
